Mexican Food Kazakh Style

Ok well I haven't written anything in a while because I've been bored and not doing anything exciting. Well here is one thing I did do. I found a Mexican restaurant called Mexico. Went inside and surprisingly it was as tacky as some of the restaurants we have in the states.

So I ordered a beer and was hoping for some chips and salsa, but they have no idea what that is. At least the beer was right though =) Started to look through the menu and it had classics like Enchiladas, Tacos, and Tostadas. I was pumped up I thought I was finally going to get some good Mexican food that I didn't have to make myself. I ordered the Chicken Enchilada.

Well a chicken Enchilada is a special little treat here in Kazakhstan. It is basically a hamburger patty all grilled up stuffed with chicken and mayonaise. The finishing touches are a tomato on top with melted cheese and peas and corn off to the side.

Although it wasn't American Mexican food it was still really freaking good so I went back the next day and had a tostada. A tostada was a really thin fried egg filled with spicy chicken, fried bread pieces, and mayonaise. It was good though to.

Anyways that is my big experience from the last 15 days or so. Start teaching again next Tuesday and then Dawn is getting to come out here on the 10th for a couple of days so we can plan some wedding stuff!!! I'll try to write some more later. I need to go eat something. Maybe I will make real Mexican food tonight at home. POKA POKA
