I was hoping to post some pictures of out little Christmas Eve dinner my host family had last night, but the Internet is super slow today so maybe tomorrow.
Last night was a little depressing, but still nice. My host family is German so they celebrate Christmas on the 25th like most of the Western World. Most Russians celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January. My host mother invited her parents, sister, and niece for dinner. We had a lot of really good food and then some cake and dessert.
As nice as it was I couldn't help but think of how nice it would to be home with my family or in Aktobe with Dawn. I came into the city today and am going to be going to Nathan's house soon for a little Xmas celebration of our own. I don't' know what we will do, but I'm sure it will be a little American in some way.
I hope you all are having a great Christmas. Miss you....

our first christmas together and in KZ: me eating the box of mac and cheese you sent me all alone in my room, you sitting alone in your room trying to talk on phone with me as they keep cutting out. I think that is officially the most pathetic christmas ever!! But i'm so happy that next year and all the years afterwards we can make up for it!!! Love you!
Happy Holidays Jack and Dawn! Gregg and I would like to congratulate you two on your engagement. We are very happy for you. Dawn, this is a wonderful and crazy family you will be joining. But we love each other and enjoy each other very much. Looking forward to meeting you. Know times are hard now, but will be so worth it in the years to come. Love Uncle Gregg and Aunt BJ
